A landmark luxury resort Asia is seeking an accomplished Director of Operations to oversee day-to-day performance across its expansive hospitality operations. Known for its exceptional architecture, world-class facilities, and high standards of guest service, this iconic property is recognised as one of the region’s premier integrated luxury resorts.


Reporting Structure

Position Title: Director of Operations
Reports To: General Manager
Supervises: Senior department heads across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, Recreation, and Guest Experience
Location: (Coastal Resort Setting Asia)


The Opportunity

This is a career-defining role for a seasoned hotel or resort operations leader with a background in large-scale luxury properties or integrated resorts. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, attention to detail, and the capability to manage complex operations across extensive facilities, multiple outlets, and a high-expectation guest profile.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational departments, ensuring excellence in Rooms, F&B, Recreation, Spa, Security, Engineering, and Front-of-House Services.

  • Maintain world-class service standards and guest satisfaction levels across a large, diverse resort environment.

  • Lead and manage senior department heads, ensuring strong alignment with organisational goals.

  • Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and productivity without compromising guest experience.

  • Ensure safety, security, and compliance with all Brunei regulatory and brand standards.

  • Collaborate with the GM on long-term strategic planning, capital improvement projects, and operational enhancements.

  • Uphold a strong culture of training, coaching, and succession leadership development.

  • Represent the resort at the highest level with guests, partners, vendors, and government or tourism stakeholders.


Candidate Profile

  • A polished and experienced operations leader with extensive 4.5 and 5-star-sized resort experience.

  • Background in large, complex, high-end properties with multiple outlets, expansive recreation facilities, and significant guest volumes.

  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and maintain exceptional guest experience standards.

  • Strong financial acumen with success in improving profitability and managing large operating budgets.

  • Strategic, forward-thinking, and able to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organisational leadership skills.
